For more than 30 years I’ve worked with companies of all sizes, from large publicly traded enterprises through small private startups. One lesson I have learned: random acts of marketing are only randomly successful.

After assessments, I’ll help in key strategic areas like awareness amplification, demand gen optimization, product launch process and overall GTM alignment.

I can coach your marketing leader or be your fractional CMO. For the long haul or just an interim period, I can be a member of your leadership team, guiding your existing marketers and interfacing with your board. 

About me

I started my career in 1990 selling for Xerox.  I went to president’s club in my first year because I learned empathy for my customers.  In 1997 I pivoted to product management and immediately realized I needed that same empathy for my sellers.  I’d been in their shoes and knew that their job is hard. Solutions that are easy-to-buy and easy-to-sell can make all the difference.  Moving to CMO in 2012 I recognized that successful messaging, positioning, awareness and demand generation only come with real empathy for the organization itself. In other words, purposeful, top-to-bottom, cross-functional alignment.

Business aside, I’ve lived in Austin, TX, since 1992 and am a passionate advocate of the city; especially the mountain biking and live music scenes. Some of my own songwriting contributions are here on Spotify.
